Description
This artwork sold privately to a art collector from Scotland. He visited me in my home and purchased three works on the 22nd February 2023.
Remembering Stonewall 1969. The late and great Judy Garland leads the way down the yellow brick road. The New York Skyline as it was in 1969. We see the outline of the Stonewall Inn and a white policeman brandishing his truncheon at a black drag queen, who retaliates by throwing her handbag at him. She reaches back, forward through time, to a young white man who is kissing a black NYC policeman, while reaching erotically for his truncheon. The stars bare the name of some world changing gay men. Liberace, Andy Warhol, Sir Elton John, Freddie Mercury, Alan Turing and Michelangelo.
A red ribbon on the side of the Empire State Building at the start of the arrow of time, tells of another tragedy yet to happen.
