Behind the walls of Heave we seen the religions of the Earth united. A number of souls, lead by an Angel walk through a tunnel towards the light. An eternal burning bush puts ash into the river of life. It is mixed and re-enters space, time giving birth to new life.

David Westwood

I was born on the 20th February 1968 and grew up in the shadow of Birmingham, England. The second largest city in the UK. I come from a working class back-ground. I am gay and came out to my family at the age of 16 in 1984. At first my family rejected my sexuality. AIDS was hitting the headlines as, “the gay plague,” and they really did not understand why I had, “chosen,” to be gay. Eventually however, they realized it was not a choice and they did accept me. This conflict is documented in many of my artworks along with my interest in history and politics. My artwork is created to be seen and when it has been looked at it has achieved his goal.
